Subject: Data Validation Policy for Employment and Training Programs

Purpose: To inform states and National Program grantees of the Employment and Training Administrationís data validation policy, and the plans to implement data validation requirements for the following programs: Workforce Investment Act Title IB, Labor Exchange, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers, Native American Employment and Training, and Senior Community Service Employment Program. The data validation policy and supplemental guidance on implementing data validation will be conveyed to National Program grantees through the issuance of program bulletins. BETA Testers Wanted for New Web-Based WIA Data Analysis Resource

The Employment and Training Administrationís Performance and Results Office is looking for volunteer beta-testers from the workforce development system to help us fine-tune a new Web-based tool that will provide instant analysis of workforce system performance data from a number of different perspectives. The tool has been developed by Northern Illinois University and is tied into the Workforce Investment Act Standard Record Data (WIASRD). The new resource is designed to:

The agency hopes to introduce the new data analysis tool by the end of August. In the meantime, the Performance and Results Office needs users to try out the beta site to provide feedback and reactions so that the agency can make necessary improvements before the official launch.

Appointments to Native American Employment and Training Council

Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao has announced the appointment of 18 members to the Native American Employment and Training Council. The Council's first 2003 meeting will be held Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. at the U.S. Labor Department's Frances Perkins Building.
