Policy Council was briefed on the interim Data Validity Project report. Division of Performance and Results will convene a workgroup to develop recommendations and a strategy for stakeholder consultation.

WIA Policy Team - At the May 1st meeting, OPR presented an issue paper on the impact of layoffs on H-1B training for incumbent and other workers. OAS reports that Toll-Free Help Line (TFHL) call volume reached an all-time record high of over 6,000 calls in April, trending up from 1,649 calls in January; 2,619 in February and 4,443 in March. As National and State-specific public information efforts are implemented, continue and expand, OAS anticipates that this pattern of growth will be sustained. Clearly, there is strong demand by the public for this service.
